"SWAVALAMBHI" – Self-Reliance and Empowerment
"Swavalambhi", meaning self-reliant, is the livelihood and employment initiative of Voice of Needy Foundation (VNF) aimed at empowering unemployed youth—especially persons with disabilities and marginalized communities—to build independent and sustainable careers.
Through extensive outreach across districts and taluks of Karnataka, VNF conducts awareness drives, village meetings, and Gram Panchayat engagement programs to identify unemployed youth from rural and slum communities who lack access to skill training and employment opportunities.
Once identified, participants are enrolled in a structured residential training program that equips them with market-relevant skills, confidence, and workplace readiness, helping them transition successfully into employment. Skill development programs like these help youth build employability, financial independence, and long-term career opportunities.
Location: All 30 districts of Karnataka Except Kodagu
Year of Inception: 2017

What the Program Offers
🏫 45-Day Residential Skill Training
Participants undergo an intensive 45-day residential training program that focuses on personal development, professional discipline, and workplace readiness. The residential environment encourages peer learning, confidence building, and holistic development.
💼 Industry-Relevant Skill Modules
The program provides practical training in sectors that offer strong employment opportunities, including:
- Retail operations
- Hospitality and service industry
- Digital literacy and computer skills
- Communication and spoken English
- Financial literacy and workplace ethics
These modules help youth develop the practical skills, digital competence, and interpersonal abilities required in modern workplaces.
👨👩👧 Parent Counselling & Family Engagement
Before enrolment, VNF conducts parent counselling sessions to help families understand the program, build trust, and encourage long-term support for the participant’s career journey.
🤝 Placement Support & Post-Employment Guidance
Swavalambhi goes beyond training by providing job placement assistance and post-employment support. Participants receive:
- Interview preparation and mock interviews
- Employer linkages and job opportunities
- Guidance during the initial months of employment
This continued support ensures smoother workplace integration and sustainable careers.
Our Goal
